The Hildegard is based on a 16th Century door from Church Farm in Suffolk. Now found on display at the V and A museum. It represents the unostentatious design approach that was popular around at this period. The Hildegard offers a level of quality and detail unfound in door manufacturing in this day and age, whilst appealing to the understated and simple tastes of the 21st Century. Made using quarter sawn Oak and iron nails this door is built to outlast all expectations. The fact that the original door is still in existence today after over 500 years is testament to the design indeed.
